As we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable Father that we all call Baba. I am reflecting on the numerous ways he influenced my life and the lessons he imparted.
Many years ago, during my teens, I used to join Baba and Mummy in Baba Eko’s (His elder brother) house at High School and later his own house at Okeanu whenever they come to Ogbomoso for any function to help with house chores. Little did I know that those moments will set the foundation for my future and shape the course of my destiny, teaching me the importance of diligence and dedication. Even until his last days, he often reminisced about those years and never hesitated to share how much he treasured those times. For this, I am forever grateful.
After my secondary, I fully moved to Ibadan and He became a true father figure to all—always guiding and encouraging. His straightforward nature was refreshing, and he demonstrated humility as one of life’s greatest strengths.
Under his roof, many went to schools and learnt trades. He provided the warmth and support of a father. Baba carried himself with grace and dignity until the final days.
We are forever grateful for your time with us here and though you have departed from this world, your impact on our lives will remain eternal. Thank you for giving to the Lord. We are the lives that were changed. Keep resting in a place of peace where there are no days and years.
Good night, Baba! Until the resurrection day .
